Step-by-step instruction for foreign students planning to travel outside Russia

Step 1. * Check the type and duration of your Russian visa - it must be of multiple entries (if you hold a single-entry visa you won't be able to return back to Russia with it) and be valid for at least 45 more days since the date of your return to Russia to be able to extend it in our office upon arrival. If you are planning to leave Russia with the expiring visa you will need to obtain a new visa at the Russian consulate in your country of citizenship before returning back. You can extend your visa in our office before traveling. See more details on the extension procedure here.
* Only for students with visa regime for entering Russia

Step 2. Inform the HSE Visa and Registration Center about your travel details in advance by sending to the email migration-info@hse.ru the following info:

-        Your first and last name

·        Your faculty and program of study

·        Your citizenship

·        Dates of leaving and reentering Russia

·        Country of travel

Step 3. Inform the passport officer of your dormitory/ the owner of your rented apartment on your trip and make sure they will be ready to register you after you arrive back to Russia.

Step 4. Ask your manager to check whether you are listed on the Federal lists of entering foreign students on the portal of gosuslugi. The instruction for checking it in Russian is here. If you are not listed, contact your manager to have yourself listed there.
