Can I enter Russia without a visa?

You do not need a student visa to enter Russia if you are a citizen of the following countries: Azerbaijan, South Ossetia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Armenia, Uzbekistan or Russia, or if you are a holder of a diplomatic passport.

Citizens of all other countries must obtain a student visa to enter Russia.

What documents do I need to stay in Russia legally?

A migration card is a document with information about the visiting foreign citizen, including the date when he or she crossed the border into Russia and the purpose of their visit.

A registration slip is a document confirming a foreign citizen’s legal stay in Russia.
