Duma Backs Bill to Raise Migration Fees
The State Duma has approved in the first reading a bill on a multiple increase in state fees in the field of migration. According to the initiative of the Russian Government, starting July 1, 2026, it is planned to: increase the entry invitation fee from 960 to 8,000 rubles; raise the cost of multiple-entry visa renewal from 1,920 to 6,000 rubles; and increase the for Educational Purposes (RVPO) fee from 1,920 to 8,000 rubles. The bill must still pass subsequent readings, and amendments can be made to it.
The 'Gosuslugi RuID' app to become mandatory for visa-free foreign citizens starting July 1, 2026
Effective July 1, 2026, a new rule requires all visa-free foreign citizens to use the "Gosuslugi RuID" mobile app when entering Russia. Applications must be submitted at least 72 hours before arrival. Exemptions apply to Belarusian citizens, children under 6, diplomats, service passport holders, and official delegation members.
30 Days for Medical Examination: New Rules for Foreigners Starting September 1, 2026
Effective September 1, 2026, the deadline for foreign citizens in Russia to undergo a mandatory medical examination will be reduced from 90 to 30 days. Evasion will result in a fine ranging from 25,000 to 50,000 rubles and potential deportation from the country.
