Students: visa
1. I have completed my studies at HSE University. What should I do?
If you successfully completed your studies at HSE University, please make sure that you leave Russia before the expiry date on your visa. HSE University graduates are entitled to stay longer in Russia (e.g., they can use this time to legalize their degree certificates). If you want to stay longer in Russia, please contact your programme office and then make sure you have your visa extended.
If you get dismissed from HSE University, you will have to leave Russia within three calendar days from the date of your dismissal directive, regardless of your visa duration.
2. What should I do if I want to continue my studies at HSE University?
If you plan to continue your studies at HSE University, please inform the HSE Visa Support Centre and make sure that you obtain a new student visa in a timely manner. Most likely, you will have to leave Russia and get a new visa invitation. The procedures for obtaining a Russian visa may differ depending on your future academic trajectory.
If you are a student of Preparatory Year Programme
You can extend your visa without leaving Russia under the following conditions:
1) carefully check your passport: its expiry date must be at least 18 months away from your planned date of entry into Russia. It must also contain at least four blank pages for your Russian visa and entry/exit stamps. If you do not have enough blank pages in your passport, you must apply for a new one.
2) all documents required for visa extension must be submitted no later than 40 days before the expiry date on your current visa.
3) you have been admitted to HSE University's degree programme.
If you have been a fee-paing student, contact International Admissions.
If you studied at HSE University under the recommendation of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, contact International Preparatory Programmes.
3. What should I do if I plan to study at other university?
If you have completed your preparatory programme at HSE University and now plan to study at other institution, you need to ask that institution if they can extend your visa.
